The Roland Garros draws are out! And here’s what we’ve been waiting for: Djokovic vs. Nadal and Fed vs. Ferrer in the semis. More good news for nervous Fed fans: Berdych is in Ferrer’s section, leaving Roger with Tsonga. Tipsarevic is seeded for Nole’s quarter and Gasquet would meet Rafa in that round. No Murray (back), no del Potro (virus), but Wawrinka (muscle tear) is in – and would play Gasquet in the round of 16 for the right to meet Rafa. (American fans will shed a tear for Brian Baker and Mardy Fish, who are out with knee and heart problems, respectively.)
This is obviously a dream scenario for Federer fans (right???), but what does this mean for Nole and Rafa?
On the ladies side, Azarenka landed in Maria’s half. Serena is looking forward to Sara Errani in her semi. Li Na could be Azarenka’s quarterfinal opponent and Kvitova could meet Masha in the same round. On Serena’s side, she could get Kerber in the quarters and Errani is seeded to meet Agnieszka Radwanska.
There’s so much more to discuss (Dimitrov vs. Nole in the third round!) but I needed to get this off my chest before breaking out the pencil and the draw sheets. What are you excited about in either draw?
