After feeling like he broke his foot during his Round of 16 vs. Juan Martin del Potro yesterday, Rafael Nadal reports that an MRI revealed that everything’s okay.
Via Rafa’s Facebook page:
Good morning everybody. Yesterday after the match I went to take an MRI at a London hospital. During the match I thought I had something serious but as the match went through the pain got better and thankfully the tests don’t show an injury. Today I will practice at 4.30 pm and I’ll play tomorrow. Thanks all for the support.
Very good news for the tournament, maybe not such good news for Mardy Fish, who’s slated to meet the defending champ in the quarters. I wonder how much this type of episode effects the opponents? Does it give the underdog that bit of hope he needs to contend with someone like Rafa, or does it psych someone like Mardy Fish out? Mardy would do well to put any thoughts of Nadal’s injuries out of his mind.
