I was cruising through Men’s Tennis Forum recently and came across an old interview with David Ferrer where he admits to being a huge bookworm (and perhaps a mama’s boy):
But your favourite hobby remains reading?
Yes, I love it. My mother who is a school teacher has always stressed on the importance of reading. She loves it too,
What books would you recommend to us?
Arturo Perez Reverte is a great Spanish writer. He wrote “The Queen of the South”. And a non-Spanish book, I love is “The Pillars of the Earth” by Ken Follett.
I heard you read it in just three days. It’s a huge book!
Yes (laughs), 1300 pages. I really loved this book, so I finished it very quickly.
So you really are capable of sitting for hours with a book in your hands.
Yes, I love reading because when you read a book, you tell yourself your own story whereas in movies, the story is already told.
Ferrer channels his scholarly side in a campaign for Bovet 1822 watches, as seen in Revolution magazine.
