

Serena Williams made an appearance on the Today Show yesterday to talk about her dramatic turn of events in her health with Matt Lauer. Serena not only experienced a pulmonary embolism about two weeks ago, but also had a grapefruit sized hematoma surgically removed from her stomach! ACK!
Several WTA players voiced their support for Serena and her road to recovery. Via Tennis.com Ticker
“I was really shocked,” said former No. 1 Jelena Jankovic said. “I wish her best of luck to recover. She’s fighter and she’ll be strong.”
No. 3 Vera Zvonareva said, “She’s been out of game and we’ve been missing her and then something else happened and it terrible. She has to take her time. She’s very passionate about tennis and it will all depend on her heath, but I know she loves to play and wants to win as many titles as she can in her career.”
Caroline Wozniacki, who recently visited with Williams in Los Angeles, said that Williams was in good spirits and the two discussed doing a Karaoke duet together.
