John Isner and Bethanie Mattek-Sands may be this year’s champs in Perth but Mademoiselle Nicolas Mahut is the Queen of Hopman Cup:
Mahut supposedly borrowed the dress from his partner Kristina Mladenovic and the socks from Bethanie Mattek-Sands. Yeah likely story!

I like the Busted Racquet’s take: “Well, this is one way to make people stop talking about losing that 70-68 fifth set at Wimbledon.”
Team France already lost to Team USA earlier in the week, this particular mixed up doubles match was arranged when both Laura Robson and Francesca Schiavone withdrew from the tournament with injuries (via tennis-x). I’m sure the crowd didn’t mind the substitution.
Oh la la!

Nico struggles down below with the overheads:
The quirky Mahut, currently ranked 132 in the world, who charmed the crowds in Perth this week with his tennis and, uh, Gallic flair, is hoping for a wild card into the Australian Open. Good effort, Nicolas!
