Did everyone enjoy the second exhibition? As expected, Rafael Nadal took out Roger Federer in front of the Madrid fans, including Spanish royalty. The match went the requisite, crowd-pleasing three sets: 7-6 (3), 4-6, 6-1. This was a very busy two days for everyone, starting when Rafa arrived in Zurich on Tuesday for a city tour, lunch, clinic, and a tennis match. Then the two flew back to Madrid to do it all over again for Rafa’s Foundation. A little present exchange on the plane?

I love this still:
More from the TV interview.
“It’s like you’re married – a sports marriage!” gushes the interviewer. . .Roger’s take on Rafa: “He’s a very nice man.” Roger and Rafa spent some time with the kids:

There were rumors that the end was sped up due to Spanish TV’s broadcast window, but all in all, it was a satisfying finish to a successful two days of fundraising. These guys obviously did a lot of hands-on work to make these events happen, and I’m more in awe of both of them than ever. The awards ceremony was cut off on ESPN – here it is:
“Whenever he needs me, I’ll be there for him.” AWWWWW. Maybe it is like a marriage, after all.
The two ended Wednesday evening with a gala dinner.
And now. . .I’m sure they’ve seen enough of each other for 2010! See you in Australia, boys!
