GOTOTENNIS - Tennis blog. Tennis news. Tennis gossip.

I was so jealous of the lucky jerks sitting in Louis Armstrong stadium Tuesday during the epic Round of 16 match between Fernando Verdasco and David Ferrer. This match point alone, was worth the cost of admission:

Sorry, the speed is a little off, but you get the gist: Whaaat?

Even crazier: Verdasco lost the first two sets to his tenacious countryman. He was down an early break in the fifth set and battled back from a 1-4 hole in the final tiebreaker. The match lasted 4 hours and 23 minutes.

Verdasco better sleep in tomorrow. He’ll face Rafael Nadal in another all Spanish affair on Thursday. Rafa beat Feliciano Lopez in a brisk 2 hour match that started after 11pm. Verdasco vs. Nadal will be the first all-Spanish quarterfinal in US Open history. Either way: Vamos!
