Scary first set for Fed today. Was starting to feel like Rome all over again. Start of 2nd set wasn’t any better, until Fed found his mojo and handed Gulbis a “breadstick” in the 2nd and eventually closing it out in the 3rd.
Federer vs Gulbis results: 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 Federer plays David Ferrer tomorrow. Federer‘s record against David Ferrer is 9-0. Let’s just hope Roger makes it 10-0.

- If Federer win’s his 17th ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title, he will tie Rafael Nadal and Andre Agassi. Federer would also equal Bjorn Borg’s record of 63 tour-level trophies for No. 5 on the all-time Open Era titles list.
- Federer has a 694-166 lifetime match record and is close to becoming the 10th player in the Open Era to surpass 700 match wins.
Rafa only needed 79 minutes to put away the fleet-footed Monfils.
