Speaking of the, um, awkward moment between Sampras and Agassi, Matt Cronin @tennisreporters was at Roger’s post-match presser on Sunday night after Fed beat Hanescu in three sets. Federer gave his take on the situation:
“I don’t think it was crazy bad, but it was a bit awkward because you didn’t know, was it just fun or not fun?”
And:
“Now being a father, I thought we had to give both guys a time out.”
Summed it up quite nicely, I think. Roger and Rafa were definitely the most mature guys on the court that night. But let’s remember the most important thing about the evening: $1 Million raised for earthquake relief!
