I guess someone at DavisCup.com understands my love for Jo-Wilfried Tsonga!

The caption: “Desire adds to France’s status as favourite”
And Tsonga understands my love for Davis Cup, though he doesn’t understand Davis Cup Dodgers:
“For me it’s difficult to understand all the people who don’t play this competition,” he said. “It’s maybe the best competition in tennis. For me it’s really important because you represent your country and you have to honour it.”
Considering that Tsonga is coming into the tie seven pounds lighter, due not to zealous training but to a nasty gastro-intestinal illness, I’d say he’s paying more than lip service to the storied competition. Of course, he’s also benefiting from a home venue and a deep bench: Gael Monfils, Julien Benneteau and Michael Llodra will join him vs. Team Germany (led by Philipp Kohlschreiber) this weekend.
France also has a long and fruitful D-Cup history, having won the event nine times. And boy, do they know how to host a draw ceremony:
