thanks ff, that was fantastic. i lived in moscow for 3mos. in 1989 and this interview is a great reminder of why i fell in love w/the russian people. i’m so happy he also loves his country because i believe a person as passionate, loving, and intelligent as marat can really make a difference.

Oh… I’m happy to hear about him again, but it also made me depressed a bit. I can’t believe he’s not around anymore (to stalk and take pictures of him). A great person, definitely the hottest tennis player (or athlete?) ever. I wish him a happy life.

hottie hall of famer! bsr (big sexy russian) is the hottest player of all time imo marat at home is adorable, especially in the kitchen. i miss him too, the ups and the downs, the pressers, the smooth swings on court, even the racquet demos. nice to see that he has a solid, grounded perspective on his life. i like his observations on how tennis has given him so much, but that it’s also not all fun and glamourous like we see in public. i hope he lives a happy and peaceful life.

I must say I’m not a Marat fan but I appreciate this intelligence and focus on life. He’s an admirable persona and he’s also hot of course. It’s funny how all the photos show him in studiously careless postures, not looking straight at the camera, lol, it looks weird. I loved the interview though!
“So it’s good, that it’s possible to have a nice breakfast, instead of running off to the gym”. I can relate to that…

I miss Marat, too. I don’t think there will ever be another tennis player as sexy as he is. ::sigh:: He always sounds a little cynical in his interviews, I wonder if that’s the Russian in him talking??
