Maria Sharapova, who recently signed a $70 million, eight-year deal with Nike*, worked the step-and-repeat for her sponsor Tiffany & Co at its Collins Street store in Melbourne on Wednesday. The fabulously wealthy star was promoting the Paloma Picasso designed earrings she’ll be wearing at the Australian Open.
Here are some shots. The earrings, made of polished yellow quartz in an 18 carat yellow gold setting, really are stunning:
Not so sure about the dress:
I don’t mean to be a pervert, but is that a nipple slip?
Maria won her last title in Tokyo in September and is considered a real contender for the 2010 Australian Open title (click here.) Instead of playing WTA tournaments, her 2010 warm-up has consisted of a series of exhibitions – where she’s beaten both Venus Williams and Caroline Wozniacki. Here are some photos of Maria practicing this week at Melbourne Park:
*Maria’s deal with Nike is the most lucrative ever for a female athlete, eclipsing the record-setting $45 million, five-year contract extension that Venus Williams signed with Reebok back in 2000. Reportedly, Maria will be designing a line of dresses for Nike, and will pocket a percentage of her line’s sales, as well.
Work it, girl!
