The likes of Elena Dementieva, Ana Ivanovic and the Williams sisters gathered at London’s Kensington Gardens on Thursday night for the “Ralph Lauren presents the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Pre-Wimbledon Player Party hosted by Sir Richard Branson.”
Wow, how did they manage to fit all that onto an invitation?
Here’s the scoop on the shiny gold outfits, which you will be seeing below (via the WTA’s website): “Venus and Serena, Dementieva, Zvonareva and British No.1 Anne Keothavong were all clad in outfits from Ralph Lauren, as were Sir Richard and departing Tour CEO Larry Scott, who wore the garb of a Wimbledon umpire.”
So this is usually just an excuse to relive middle school and make snarky comments. I’ve decided to rebel by only saying nice things. You can read between the lines (what lines?)
Here’s Jelena Jankovic, looking appropriately somber for whatever occasion she is not celebrating – like Wimbledon:
Gold satin is an extremely challenging fabric to pull off and Vera’s doing the best she can.
Elena Dementieva or Glenda the Good Witch?
Outgoing WTA CEO Larry Scott is dressed like a Wimbledon umpire – this is just a fact, not a judgement. Kuzy looks like big, pink present!
Sir Richard Branson is a distinguished older gentleman who has taken a liking to Ana Ivanovic.
It’s probably just fatherly affection. . .
Or whatever. . .
Venus has a Champion-worthy look!
Double the Champions.
Nervous? Why should Ana and Vera be nervous?
Did this photo come with the frame?
Uhhhhh. . . hold on a second. . .I can think of something. . .
This might look okay on Maria Sharapova or Barbara Eden!
Wow! Anne Keothavang is really, truly STUNNING! (Phew, that was easy.)
