Congrats to Jo-Dubya Tsonga for winning his third career ATP title (out of four final appearances) today at the inaugural SA Tennis Open in Johannesburg (an ATP World Tour 250 tournament). He beat fellow Frenchman and first-time finalist, Jeremy Chardy, 6-4, 7-6(5).
Besides winning on the court this week, Jo-Wilfried also took some time out to lead a tennis workshop with local kids at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center in White City, Soweto. Besides the joy of giving back to his sport, Tsonga said he saw some real potential in his students:
“With the right support, stars are being born here.”
For now, we can enjoy watching Tsonga’s own star rise. And check out the photos from his kids’ workshop below (courtesy of Feel It Tennis Blog.) Cute kids + drool-worthy tennis player = photographic Prozac!
