There’s been some interesting debate at Down the Line and elsewhere about the concept of post-match interviews and the post-final trophy ceremony in particular, sparked by an article (click here) by the always eloquent Neil Harman. Personally, I think post-match interviews are fine, and, after the final, the fans like a little closure if their guy didn’t come out on top. Roger’s Australian Open breakdown is not the norm, and in it’s own heartbreaking way, was a pretty extraordinary display. Anyway, as a last bit of post-loss therapy, I thought I’d share this link (click here) to the post match interviews Roger did after all six of his other matches played Down Under. (Note! there’s a Fedophile on youtube!)
So are we ready to move on, Fed fans? There are tournaments going on all over the globe right now (Chile, South Africa, Croatia) but it does seem pretty hard to care right now, doesn’t it? But get ready for more drama – Roger and Rafa could meet again in just a couple weeks at the Barclay’s Dubai Tennis Championship, starting on February 23. I get the feeling that one of them is going to duck.
