Hello, ladies! The women of the WTA tour are in sunny Doha this week playing in the Sony Ericsson Championships (why, oh why, does every damn thing WTA-related have the words Sony Ericsson in front of it, even its web address and name of its year end championships? It. . .drives. . me. . .crazy!) Anyways, the Williams sisters will both be there, along with Jelena, Ana, Safina, Dementieva, Zvonareva and Kuznetsova. I’m missing Sharapova right now, but heck, the field is super strong and the entire tournament is playing LIVE on tennis channel all week long! So after tomorrow’s election excitement, I look forward to tuning in.
WARNING!!! In an attempt to trick the tennis-watching public, the entire tournament is being shown on Tennis Channel except for the SINGLES FINAL, which will be shown on ESPN2.
Oh, and on Sunday you can watch the start of men’s doubles Masters Cup competition in Shanghai.
