The guy wrestled the No. 1 ranking from Roger Federer, romped to a fourth Roland Garros title, won the Wimbledon championships in what’s been called the best tennis match of all time, reached the semis of the Aussie and U.S. Opens (career best finishes), won an Olympic Gold medal for Spain in Beijing, and was essential in getting his country to the Davis cup final which is coming up this month in Argentina.
And now he’s got the nerve to skip the Masters Cup because of a bum knee. Excuses, excuses!
I am disappointed not to see a Roger vs. Rafa showdown at the end of the year, but both players are so bruised and battered that Tsonga vs. Simon might be a better match, anyway.
Not that Federer has pulled out. . .yet.
