There hasn’t been much to fawn over lately for us Fed Fans, which is why Joel Drucker was smart to write this appreciation of Roger’s 10 most “spectacular moments.” Click here to read the article, and indulge in some Fedophile nostalgia.
The author left out one of my favorites – the 2006 Aussie Open trophy ceremony, where Rog broke into tears after accepting the cup from Rod Laver. I think that moment revealed so much about his deep respect for the history of the game and his desire to be one of the all time greats.

Wait, it just hit me – all this tribute/reflection/”this is your life” stuff relates to Roger’s loss of the number one ranking. Duh! It’s like those obituaries that news organizations prepare in advance, in case an actor or world leader dies suddenly. Am I the only one who finds all this a little morbid?
