The marriage rumors are really starting to buzz around Chicago hip hopper Common and the always fly Serena Williams. At least the sources are getting more old media and less fly-by-night blog. Here’s the latest from Bill Zwecker at the Chicago Sun Times:
Not only is the romance between Chicago rapper and actor Common and tennis queen Serena Williams back on — I’m hearing an engagement could be in the works. While Williams was very cagey about Common when asked about their relationship at the recent Wimbledon championship (”He’s a great guy, but right now, I’m just concentrating on my tennis”), a good Common source says the talented entertainer has been checking out some serious bling — focusing on some major engagement rings.
Yeah, that ring better be major, considering all the Majors Serena has already. I’m really happy for her (assuming it’s true), but I hope she doesn’t go off on some epic honeymoon/world tour with her man and leave us fans standing at the altar!
