So Spain just won the UEFA European Championship for the first time in 44 years (with a one-nil victory over Germany in Vienna). We all know Rafa’s football obsession rivals our’s with tennis (click here), so will this big win inspire the raging Mallorcan to end Spain’s other title drought on grass? It’s been almost as long (42 years) since a Spaniard, Manuel Santana, took the gentleman’s title at Wimbledon. The time is ripe.
Good thing Roger claims not to be superstitious, then again, I believe he picked Germany to go all the way.
What do you think? Will football play a winning role at Wimbledon?
