610x A MATHIEU MOMENTLet’s all take a moment to congratulate Paul-Henri Mathieu, who thrilled French fans today by coming back from two sets down to score a win for the first time in his life! Granted it was Oscar Hernandez and not James Blake, but still, it’s great. Good for you, P-H!

I’ve come to respect the mentally fragile Mathieu this season. The way he offered himself up during the Davis Cup semifinal against the U.S., filling in (and failing) for the bratty and spoiled Gasquet. There’s something very touching and inspirational about seeing someone try so hard when you and they both know they are bound to fail (like in the fifth set against Blake in Davis Cup.) I think of Paul-Henri every time I’m scared of messing up and looking like a fool. Maybe that doesn’t sound like a compliment, but it is.
